The Los Angeles Kings will be without two of their best players when they open the season this week with a three-game road trip.
The Kings listed center Jason Allison and right wing Adam Deadmarsh as non-roster players when they finalized their opening day roster Tuesday. Both are recovering from concussion-related injuries suffered last season.
Los Angeles also placed centers Jared Aulin and Michael Cammalleri and defensemen Aaron Miller and Brad Norton on injured reserve while suspending defenseman Maxim Kuznetsov for failing to report to camp.

One of the best playmakers in the NHL, Allison has been out since suffering
his third whiplash in a week on January 25 at Edmonton. He played in only 26
games last season, recording six goals and 22 assists. Ticketmaster
Deadmarsh suffered a concussion on December 15 and didn't play again the rest of the season. He had began the campaign on fire, totaling 13 goals and four assists in 20 games.
Tuesday's news is quite a blow to the Kings, who have been among the most injury-plagued teams in the league in recent seasons. In his last four full seasons, Allison has averaged more than 84 points. Deadmarsh has scored 20 or more goals five times.
The Kings begin the season with three road games in four nights, beginning Thursday in Detroit. Their home opener is October 15 against Ottawa.
