Marc Savard scored three goals and had two assists, and Frantisek Kaberle had three assists as the Atlanta Thrashers scored four power-play goals in a 5-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Friday night.
The Predators opened the scoring at 6:32 of the first period when Andreas Johansson scored his first goal of the preseason, taking advantage of a defensive mix-up in the Thrashers zone and sweeping a backhander past goalie Pasi Nurminen. Marek Zidlicky added the only assist.
Just over six minutes later Jordin Tootoo, making a bid to become the first Inuit player to play in the NHL, converted a cross-crease pass from Vernon Fiddler to make it 2-0.
Atlanta scored on the power play with 9.5 seconds left in the first period when
Savard beat Tomas Vokoun from the slot. Randy Robitaille and Kaberle were credited

The Thrashers tied it with their second power-play goal when Savard again beat Vokoun through traffic from the top of the circle. Kaberle and Ilya Kovalchuk had assists.
Kovalchuk added his first goal of the preseason at 6:12 of the third off a cross-ice pass from Savard to give the Thrashers the lead. Kaberle assisted on the play. Ticketmaster
Kamil Piros scored the fourth power-play goal and the Thrashers' 10th of the preseason, sweeping in a rebound of Yannick Tremblay shot from the point.
Savard added an empty-net, short-handed goal with 1:13 left.
